Catching Up & Our Family Vacation in Montego Bay
Hi everyone! A little time has passed, so I just wanted to give a short and sweet update on life since my last blog post.
First of all, I cannot believe that we are already in April. I feel like all I did was blink twice since Christmas, and here we are. The winter weather is finally disappearing here in New Jersey, and spring is in full swing. Spring and summer are always packed with excitement for my family. Both mine and my son’s birthdays are in May with Mother’s Day falling in between and when June rolls around, we celebrate both Father’s Day and my husband’s birthday. To top it all off, my wedding anniversary is in July. Factor all of this in with having the breathing room that summer provides to get together with family and friends, and for us it is back-to-back-and-back again, delightful chaos.
Because of the above, April almost always seems to be the best time to fit in a family vacation. So last week, Imani, Grey, my aunt, and I kicked it to Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Jamaica is a special island to me, not only because it’s Jamaica, but because it is also my mother’s native country - I’ll never stop appreciating its beauty. This was my aunt’s first trip there and Grey’s first visit where he was actually able to enjoy the island vibes, both of which made the trip particularly special.
Truth be told, we had an absolute blast and the time detached from our normal routine was much needed - even for little Grey.
I’m refreshed and ready to get back into the swing of things. As always, thanks for reading and until next time…
